Now remember how tiny this ornament was to paint....so my line drawing is a bit shaky!

Adjust the line drawing to any size you like.

And there really is no red streak on the cheek.

Favorite Varnish

Please base the ornament with several coats of Midnight Blue and a dash of White.  When dry transfer the pattern. Paint the little shelf the child’s hand is resting upon first. Paint it several times with Burnt Sienna.

Paint all the Fleshtone areas four times with Fleshtone.  Line the ear and fingers with Burnt Sienna. Shade the face (head) against all the hair with Burnt Sienna . 

Base in the little jacket with White plus a touch of Midnight Blue.  Shade under the collar and against the back of the arm with Payne’s Gray.  Highlight the sleeve in the front with Lemon Yellow plus whit.  .  Line the trim on the jacket with True Red and then highlight this trim with White. Float True red on the cheek.  You might want to mop gently. 

Base the hair with Honey Brown.  Use a feather Edge and place the directions of the hair with Burnt Sienna.  Allow to dry and highlight the hair in the front with Lemon Yellow plus White.

Add the bow of True Red plus White. 

The candle stick is Antique Gold.  Shade the sections and outer edges with Burnt Sienna.  Highlight with Lemon Yellow plus White.  Paint the candle with White.  Shade each inner edge with Payne’s Gray. Wet the area above the candle and float Lemon yellow in the area.  Pounce the mop brush on it.  Do it several times drying it each time.  Paint in a solid flame of Lemon Yellow and add a center of Bright Orange, add a tiny wick of Black.

At the base of the candle add flick leaves of Holly Green and Black Forest Green.  Add touches of Yellow to some of the leaves.

Back to he hands.  Shade with Burnt sienna against the clothing.  Highlight with white plus a dit of Lemon Yellow.

Float Payne’s Gray against the little girl.  Add a line of Lemon Yellow plus white on the edge of the upper face.

Wet the curly cues and add dots of White.  Finish with favorite varnish.

I painted the back side of mine purple and white.
