Free Halloween Pattern Instructions 

Please sand seal and sand the surface you are going to use for this design.  Paint the surface first with True Blue plus a touch of White.  Two coats please. Then pick up a bit of Dioxazine Purple with White and brush it across the surface, adding a bit more to the top of the board.

Transfer the characters.

Begin with the ghost and paint his entire body with White.  Add the features with Black.  Float Antique Mauve on the front and back of the head.  Float Desert Turquoise to the top and base of the sheet.  Line around the sheet with Black.  Paint the sneaker a mixed Grey.  Float against the sheet with a darker mixed gray.  Laces and details are Black.  His bag is Yellow lined with Black.  The pumpkin is Pumpkin with little stroke leaves of a medium green around it.

The little devil’s outfit is True Red with a “touch” of White.  Paint the outfie twice. 

Highlight the outfit with a mix of True Red plus more white in the following areas, on the head, tips of the ears, back of the cape, on the front of the arms, front of the belly, the flap on the fanny and on the legs.  Shade the outfit with Payne’s Gray.  Place it between the cape and body, where the hands meet the sleeves, where the legs meet the fanny, Between the legs and anywhere that the cloth overlaps.  Make sure to float Payne’s Gray against the body on the ghost to separate the characters.  The face and hands are Fleshtone.  Float Burnt Sienna around the head where it meets the hood and on the hands where they meet the sleeves.  The hair, beard, eyes, nose and mustache are Black.  The mouth is True Red.  Dry brush some rosy cheeks with True Red.  Highlight the nose, cheeks and eyes with White.  The inner ear is White. The pitch fork is Antique Gold highlighted with Lemon Yellow and lined with Black.  The bag is Pumpkin, lined with Black and the bat is Black.  Float Lemon Yellow numerous times around the bat.

Base the tiger with Marigold except for the stomach which is White.  Add the details with Black. Use a liner to add all the stripes. The shading is on the back, feet , lower are and legs is Burnt Sienna.  The inner ear is pink, lined with Lemon yellow.  Now dry brush the highlights several times with Lemon Yellow.  The face is Fleshtone.   The mask is Bright Green with an upper line of Lemon Yellow.  The hair is first Burnt Sienna and then Black.  The nose eyes and whiskers are Black.the lips are True Red.  Highlight the eyes, nose and lips with White.  The bag is True Red with a White ghost, lined with Black. Add a bit of White around the ghost.  Dry brush Burnt Umber under the characters and then add flicks of Bright Green grass.

Mix a very light Blue, White plus a dit of True Blue and stencil the stars just above the kids head.

Transfer the lettering and paint several times with Cadmium Yellow.  Use a #2 flat.  Stencil stars in the upper sky with Cadmium Yellow.

 Transfer the Pumpkins, paint them with Pumpkin Orange.  Shade with a bit tof True Red. Transfer the features and paint the inside of the features with Lemon Yellow, line with Black.  Add leaves and stems with Bright Green.

Edge the board with Royal Fuchsia and white.  You can add a bit of Dioxazine to an edge if you like.  Finish with your favorite Varnish.
